Warning: Summer is coming.

Updated: Jan 2, 2019

Here in Townsville summer is brutal on us all, but it's even more testing for our lash extensions. We put so much love into them and cant seem to figure why they aren't loving us back. Here are a few tips to help your lashes stay put this summer.

Chlorine

Chlorine is good at doing what chlorine does best... cleaning things. The pool is riddled with chlorine so where possible try to avoid putting your head under (because well.... gross) but if you happen to, make sure you get out and rinse your lashes with fresh water or better, get the cleanser out and give them a real good wash as chlorine left on lash extensions will eat away at the adhesive causing mass fall out.

Salt Water

Also not great for lashes. Again this affects the bond and a good rinse with fresh water will do an amazing job at looking after those extensions.

Heat = Oily Skin

We tend to sweat a lot more in summer and produce a lot more oil, especially when we are sleeping so make sure to cleanse your lashes first thing in the morning to clean any oil from the eyelid and lashes.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen and Lash Extensions are mortal enemies. Its so important to protect our skin from the sun, so don't ever skim on the sunscreen but do opt for oil free face sunscreens such as Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen, this stuff is amazing and wont leave you running for a fill appointment.

At the end of the day the best thing to do is cleanse as much chemical off the lashes as you can and avoid oil! If you're not sure why you're shedding more lashes or how to look after them, ask next time your in studio.
